Hi AndyYeah go ahead, that's no problem. I can only speak as I find with the one I'm using. It's certainly got things on it I wouldn't use, but that happens with them all I suppose unless you go down the road of getting one custom-built.
When I discovered it had a webcam, I got my son to make positively sure it wasn't on when I used the built-in microphone or else I'd have been completely mortified by that (smiles).
As for the Bluetooth side of it, I have a switch on the front of my laptop that goes one way to turn Bluetooth and wireless networking off, and the other way to turn them on.
Yes go ahead by all means. Jackie Email: cairnsplace@xxxxxxx Skype Name: Cairnsplace----- Original Message ----- From: "Andy Collins" <andy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Jackie - Yes, this does answer my questions. I'm closing in on what Ithink I want. Perhaps I could send you the spec off-list and you could tellme what you think? Don't worry, I won't blame you if anything goes wrong <smile> - Andy----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackie Cairns" <cairnsplace@xxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, February 17, 2008 3:01 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Laptop spec questions | Hi Andy | | Firstly, mine has a built-in webcam and I never use it with the built-in | microphone that comes with it too, so no you don't have to have both on | together. I use my microphone on Skype without the webcam, and it's ok. | | Secondly, you won't need a Bluetooth dongle. I have sent TALKS updates from | my laptop to my mobile direct, and that's great and quick to do. | | Hope that answers your questions. | | Jackie | | Email: cairnsplace@xxxxxxx | Skype Name: Cairnsplace| ----- Original Message ----- | From: "Andy Collins" <andy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>| To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> | Sent: Sunday, February 17, 2008 2:52 PM | Subject: [access-uk] Laptop spec questions | | | > Hi all - | >| > If a laptop comes with integrated webcam that has integrated stereo mic, | > does this mean this mic can be used with the webcam turned off?
