Hi,
Are you sure you haven't switched to Speech On Demand?
Or set speech to None or Highlighted instead of All,
Press Insert+S until JAWS says All.
Then for Speech On Demand/Full Speech, press Insert+Space then S. If it
says On Demand, do it again, you want Full Speech.

Hi
After using Jaws for many years I feel very embarrassed to ask this but how
do I get Jaws to speak as a default across all programmes? I thought I had
set this up when installing it. I have looked in Jaws settings but it will
not stay as a default setting.
I am currently using Windows 10, Office 2019 and Jaws 2020.
