Andy,
I've been out three or four weeks now. Long, long story! Last
week the engineer had to come to confirm from tests that the hard
drive was faulty before PC world would sanction a repair. I had
to be out for part of the first three days and you've no idea
until the day when to expect the engineer, so couldn't see him
until Thursday and of course he can't come back until Tuesday.
Before that I was waiting on sighted help, then had to use PC
WORLD's recovery discs to get back in, but I needed to wait some
days for eyes for that, once I'd finally found the discs. That
accounts for the delay in short form. Like others, I'm beginning
to think I'd like to go back to a basic PC with just my copy of
Windows to install and then other items to add of my own. This
computer's hopefully going to go for a while longer so I'll look
again at that nearer the time.
This should bring everyone up to speed. Three cheers for my PK,
I say - and I can even write in lying bed!
