2 points here. This wasn't the information I was given when I phoned the
helpline about this problem. I was told to reset the date. If there is
an update cd, why as a library member can I not get it and run it myself?.

If you have purchased you PTX1 DAISY player then you can reset the
service message with an update CD. If you are a library member and have
a loan machine then you will need to contact the Helpline on 0303 123
9999 and you will need to send your player in for servicing.

If you need a disk sending please email your postal address to
technews@xxxxxxxxxxxx When you receive the disk all you will need to do
is ensure your player is set to the current date and then insert the
disk. This will reset the service message to reoccur 36 months from now.

The only thing you can do is change the system date. This is far from
satisfactory in my opinion. Press the menu key. Arrow until you hear it
say
"system setting". press the Enter button and arrow till you hear
"setting
the system time". Press the Enter button and you can then set the system

year. Unfortunately this is the only solution.

Hi all

A friend of mine has a Plextalk TB that is constantly saying that it's
due
for a 36 month service. I'd appreciate it if anyone can give us
instructions on how to stop it.

Cheers

Barry
