Keith, read the announcement published early this week at
https://squarepenguin.co.uk/forums/announcement-23.html
In a nutshell, GIP is now broken until the developers release a new version
hopefully not before long. Yes, I’m as disappointed as you are! For the time
being, the PID method for downloading is still mainly working but no guaranties
at all it will work with all programmes.
If you don’t know how to use PID then please refer to the instructions at
https://squarepenguin.co.uk/guides/radio-download-guide/
it’ll explain it better than I will ever can. Look for the section “The PID”.
Tip. Updating to the current GIP Version (2.99) will increase your chances of
downloading programmes successfully using PID.

Subject: [access-uk] Get_iplayer, again!
Hello all,
I raised this topic when I was on the list some good while ago, but then had to
unsubscribe for various reasons.
Get_iplayer has served me very well until, I think, yesterday.
Now, I am getting an error message when attempting to download programmes with
get_iplayer.
The error message reads something like this:
“Warning:
Could not download programme Metadata.
Failed to get version PID metadata from iplayer site.”
If someone can help me with this, I’d appreciate it very much.
Thank you.
With all best wishes,
Keith
