Hi Ian,
Fortunately, you are way out of date with RiVO now. It’s come on a long way,
including having a speaker for taking phone calls, a headphone socket to route
your iPhone through it in stereo, if you don’t have a wired headphone socket,
and much more.

And no, you don’t have to buy a new unit to update the firmware, you do need a
Windows PC though.
And it works on iPhone or Android. That is the same device can work on both.
All the best
Steve

It was called RIVO and the original was given the model number N1. It was
produced by Mobience and, as Alison says, sold in the UK by Steve Nutt. I still
have the one I was sent by the manufacturer for review but I think its firmware
is long since out of date. I remember that the only way to upgrade the firmware
was to buy an entirely new unit. This was a shame as, although it did a pretty
good job, it was relatively pricey for what it was. I’m sure Steve will be back
with more and more up-to-date information.

I can see its advantages, Steve, but after the initial playing around, I just

But others may love it!

I’m surprised you didn’t get on with it Alison, it’s straightforward enough.
Or are the keys too small for you?
I love it for scrolling tweets when I am in bed, without taking the phone off
my bedside cabinet. The height of laziness I know.

I think Steve Nutt at Computer Services is the guy you need to speak to,
Barrie. I did get one but didn’t get on with it. If I knew where it was, I’d
give it to you!

Subject: [access-uk] Gadget to control iPhone
Hi all
A few years ago, there was talk of a gadget with physical buttons that was
about the size of a palm that could be used to control an iPhone via Bluetooth.
Appreciate it if anyone could remind me what it is and where I might buy one.
Cheers
Barry
