Hi,Wait till you try texting on it. Horribly slow and clumsy even if you are fast. My wife has one and I'm going to give it a go. Are you using Sky broadband ?I have tried, unsuccessfully to connect my N91 8GB to my Sky broadband.Do you know if it is compatible? Hope you are well. Cheers Regards Dave Ankers Hi CarolI haven't seen the N79 in any depth, only a dummy someone kindly showed me. But the N86 I have seen live, if you see what I mean, and it's a really nice phone. It is a slider, like the N95, where you push up for the keypad, and down for the MP3 controls. All buttons are tactile onit though, and there is a separate key lock on the side.Just adding my thoughts in case you weren't aware of its accessibility.Jackie Cairns Braille SpecialistEmail: jackie.cairns@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sight and Sound Technology LtdWelton House North Wing Summerhouse Road Moulton Park Northampton NN3 6WD Tel: 01604 798024 Mob: 07887 883815 www.sightandsound.co.uk -----Original Message-----From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On BehalfOf Carol Pearson Sent: 25 August 2009 11:22 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: GPS It's going to be a toss up for me between the N79 and N86. Barbara, you liked it well enough but had a problem, right? Steve, why do you like it so much? Does it have all the bells and whistles you would want on a phone, or do you go back to other handsets for various things you want to do? -- Carol carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx On Twitter: http://twitter.com/songbird49a ---- Original Message ---- From: Steve Nutt To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, August 24, 2009 6:13 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: GPSHi Ibrahim,Yes. Not only is it as accurate, but the battery life is so good onthe N79, I get about three days out of it, that it doesn't matter. I no longer use an external GPS receiver, there is no need. I can't comment as I've never used the N79, but the N82 alsoapparently has a good receiver. Nothing will beat an external unitthough, and using a phone's gps receiver will significantly reduce the battery performance. I take it that this is the case with the N79 as well? Have you tried using the N79 in a pedestrian environment and found it to be as accurate say as a Globaltop G66+ or QStarz BT-Q818X? The receiver in the E71 is good for driving, but I wouldn't use itfor pedestrian navigation. The refresh time is considerably slowerthan on an external high quality receiver, added to this the additional strain on the phone's battery and it just isn't worth while. By all means, if your in a taxi or a passenger in a car though, it makes a good backup if your external for some reason isn't available or working. All the best, Ibrahim. ----- Original Message ----- From: Saqib To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, August 23, 2009 4:18 PM Subject: [access-uk] GPSHi. How good is the built in receiver on the E71. I've tried it outtoday and got a fix straight away. I didn't use it for navigation!Only for exploration in WFA. I had the cross roads tab sheet runningand sometimes WFA would report that a certain road was approaching when I already had crossed it. Is the receiver equivalent to a 51 channel receiver?______________________________________________________________________This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System. For more information please visit http://www.messagelabs.com/email ______________________________________________________________________ ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ******************************************************************** This email and any attachments are confidential to the intended recipient and may also be privileged.
