Hi Gordon

All that is incredibly useful, thank you. As I say I have ordered it now and if it works fine, I will do a bit of scripting for it although it does not seem as is it will need too much.

Hi Brian
The Freecom stick is great. The epg is pretty good once labelled. (I used sighted help and after that everything worked well.) Everything works pretty well out of the box. There's a well stocked context menu which comes up easily from one of the windows - most options are on it. Alt and tab to the correct wwindow (there's only two) then you can use ctrl and o, ctrl and e to bring up the file list window and epg respectively. I'm sure it would benefit from a bit of scripting, but being unable to do this, I still find it's great as my main way of recording. The epg, once the days are labelled, is good. When you choose a channel from the combo box, the sound changes and you are placed in the program list for that day. Once it's fully in, (usually a few seconds) you can use your arrow keys to go down the list of times. Unfortunately you don't hear what the program is unless you press Insert and up arrow then it reads most of the line, not just the times. (A script would be nice here.) If you use the Jaws cursor to double click on the time, it then brings up the scheduler with all the times in the correct place. A further press of enter and the recording is set.

I also found that setting up the stations by scanning was easier with sighted help, but it's not impossible to do it yourself.

Finally the created files play well in its own player. They also play well in WinDVD 9(I've not tried in PowerDVD but they probably do there.) I've not however found them to work in Media Player or Real Player or Itunes. The;y look like standard mpg files. When I queried this with the makers theyput me on to a program called pvas strumento (or something like it) I can send it to you. This supposedly strips out codes to make the file more normal. However it does work well with the aforementioned programs, and I use Adobe Audition to strip the audio out of the video if I record from radio 7.

HOpe this helps.

Hi

Has anyone please used the Freecom DVB-T USB stick for viewing TV programs and is the controlling interface quite usable?

Thanks.
