Hi George, I'll ask, but do you mean the free version of Adobe 8? There're a free version of Adobe 8 and a paid for one, is that right? Sorry I'm not keeping up with the Adobe news. Are they using Adobe 8? Provided the PDF is not scanned text, I find I can usually highlight the text I want, and copy and paste as normal. Hi all, Someone is trying to copy parts of articles that are in PDF formats for me to place in a word document but without success. Some of them might be protected and others could be scanned articles. So, I'm looking for a program/programs that enable us from copying chunks of protected and scanned PDF documents. I want something reliable so I don't mind paying. Would Adobe reader do the job? And there was a talk recently on the list about a newly released OCR program for PDF scanned documents... I'm afraid I've lost those emails; would someone post that info again please? With many thanks for any help I may get. Amro
