Try this link not tried this program, had good results from Nuance PDF
Professional though on PDF files with a text layer and those scanned only.

Hi all,
Someone is trying to copy parts of articles that are in PDF formats for me to
place in a word document but without success. Some of them might be protected
and others could be scanned articles. So, I'm looking for a program/programs
that enable us from copying chunks of protected and scanned PDF documents. I
want something reliable so I don't mind paying. Would Adobe reader do the job?
And there was a talk recently on the list about a newly released OCR program
for PDF scanned documents... I'm afraid I've lost those emails; would someone
post that info again please?
