Not to sound rude here, but that really sounds a hugely expensive price for
such a device. A few years ago I already just paid $100 for an Imp voicediary,
and this was before talking cellphones and stuff. Also, with such a little
space, isn't maybe a new Olympus recorder or something like that better than
this? I know it's probably aimed at people who don't want something
high-powered, but nowadays surely there's not much need for a product like
this, especially as there's also the Tadi, Voice Mate and that other one from
the Austrian company?

    Hi

I think it was Graham Page who was asking about the tap memo product from
Cobolt. I have not seen this product, but I have today recorded the audio CD
which will accompany it.

From what I was reading, it seems very much like the old Voice Mate,
however the interface is very simple and consistent across all functions. All
the facilities are operated by voice recognition technology coupled with
pressing predominantly one key, the tap key, but occasionally two other keys
come into play. The unit has battery and memory indicators, a locator feature
which will enable you to whistle to find out where it is, there is an alarm
clock, calendar, address book and memo pad. The functionality seems limited in
terms of capacity, but as I say the interface itself seemed to be consistent
and for some people who want something very easy to use it should be fine. It
can store up to 60 phone numbers/addresses, 30 memos, 30 calendar entries. The
memory is 64 MB flash.

There is a help system on board. At any point you can use the command
"what can I say" in order to hear a list of commands you can use relative to
where you are.

If you want any more information please let me know and I will do what I
can to help, but it sounds like we should have one of these units to test for
Infotech. The price is I think £89.
