Hi, I've not had any problems with my Belkin bluetooth adaptor, once I found
the Widcomm drivers. In a way, they're rubbish in that you can't easily
download drivers, but otherwise I'm happy with them for now at least. May
consider either a Kensington or Linksys in the future as they supposedly
come with drivers, or if they didn't you can easily download them.

Hi David,

I agree it is unusual for them to have drivers, but Belkin are really
oddball like that. I hate them. Don't even think about a Belkin USB
adapter, they are just rubbish in my view.

All the best

Steve

Hi David Ian and all:

I have just received the Maplin newsletter which is offering a 32-way card
reader for £9.99 which plugs into a USB port.

It is unusual for them to need driving software.
They are just usually regarded as an external drive.

David

All correct David. There's one very simple card reader which I have which
just plugs directly into one of the USB ports on the front of my PC. The SD
card slips in the front and the reader then simply appears as a new
removable drive in WE. Sadly, there's no indication as to the make of this
device. However, I know from whom I got it and will try to find out more
info. The one I have here is a multi-card reader and requires a driver to
be installed. It's a Belkin with four slots on the front. It cost about
fifteen quid to buy through the B BC's internal market so it's probably
about seven or eight from your local shop. The other one I mentioned
probably costs washers.

Subject: [access-uk] Card Readers and writers

Hi,

This is not strictly an Access technology issue but I want to buy a card
reader/writer to use with the victor Stream when it arrives. I understand
that writing to a card first and then inserting the card into the Stream is
much faster than copying to the card whilst in the Stream itself. So, can
anyone recommend a good card reader and writer, and are all card readers
writers as well. In other words, I want to copy from my pc to a card but
also have the option of copying from the card back to the pc. Finally, am I
correct when I assume that these readers normally connect to the USB
connection on my pc.

Thanks.

David
