Dear Clive
Good to hear that you eventually got there.
It is not surprising that you were confused that Susan was available in
Narrator but not across the wider Windows system.
As you say Hazel at least is similar.
I suspect that at some time in the future Microsoft will allow wider access to
One Core voices across the whole Windows architecture. – it is a little odd
that they restricted them in the first place.

Subject: [access-uk] Brilliant, Ive done it!
Hello David,
Thank you for your reply to my last message. No, I hadn't sorted the system
voice. I even unloaded NVDA and used Narrator to go through the settings you
detailed in an earlier post. I have followed your updated instructions, and,
it worked! As you mentioned, Microsoft Susan doesn't show up in the voice
list, so I have chosen Hazel. Actually, I didn't notice much difference in the
two voices. I'm pleased to say I now have Hazel speaking in the Blindgamers
games. Much more pleasant than Microsoft David! sorry to you and others on
the list with that name. I hope you don't sound as drab as Microsoft David
does!
Thanks very much for your help.
Best wishes,
