Not Steve but I may be able to help.
I think the mistake you are making is assuming that Narrator is the same as the
System Voice. This is not necessarily so.
For example, On my system Narrator uses Ivona Brian whilst my Windows system
uses Microsoft George.
I suspect your Kitchen Sink games are almost certainly using the General
system voice rather than voices available to Narrator.
Try
Windows I to open up settings.
Tab to the search box and type in Voice
Press Enter
You should find several settings results to press enter on.
Avoid any to do with Narrator
Instead choose something like Default voice for Apps or alternatively Text to
Speech settings.
These should both bring you to the same setting window where you can change the
default windows voice to Susan which should hopefully do the trick for your
games.

Subject: [access-uk] Re: Changing the default voice in windows 10
Hello Steve,
I've just started Narrator, susan is the default voice. I also have some games
from Spoonbill software, which come under Blind Gamers, and they use the
installed Windows text-to-speech voices. These are using david for the voice,
and I would like susan to speak. There isn't a setting in the games to change
the voice, only the speech rate. Any suggestions?
Best wishes,
