Hi Andrew, the inability to increase Daisy audio playback speed on the Book Courier is what prevented me some months ago from buying one.

At that time it was possible to compress time on the APH Book Port without altering pitch.

I now regularly transfer Daisy audio onto the BookPort and it's a real pleasure listening to.

Hi,

I have just got one of these on Friday and I am not putting it down -
have around 3 books on the go at once which I downloaded in text. I
have got used to the speech on it now, although listening to samples
isn't great.

One problem I have with it is that it doesn't seem possible to increase
the speed rate of the DAISY audio file which is a bit annoying, as I
think the RNIB ones are very slow, and prefer reading them at a much
faster speed.

Thanks.
Andrew.

Hi Mark,
The book courier uses standard compact flash cards available from any
high street retailer. You get a 256 Mb card with the unit and the
courier can cope with cards up to 2 gb in size. It uses double talk
speech, which I must say I like a lot now that I've got used to it. It
supports MP3 and Daisy books, as well as books from Audible.com. I've
been using one for about 18 months now and I've never looked back. I
can thoroughly recommend it. Okay, so there are a few quirks in the
firmware but nothing a reset doesn't usually cure.
If I can answer any more questions, don't hesitate to come back to me.

Cheers for now,
Sandra.
