And then, I understand you can say "Alexa Snooze for 10 minutes" though I
haven't tried it.
So Clive's scenario would completely work.
All the best
Steve

You can set the Echo to play a radio station as an alarm every day. For
example, just say:
Alexa, set everyday alarm for quarter past eight to bbc radio two

Well, you can definitely say "Alexa, set an alarm for 6.15 every day,"
I've done that. I haven't asked her for a radio station though, all I
want really is a reasonably sounding alarm which is what I get. You
can change the alarm sounds and volume by going to
https://alexa.amazon.co.uk
I haven't tried any of this with Google Home yet as she isn't in our
bedroom.

Hi Jackie,
If you could say to your Google Home or Alexa: "Wakeword" Set an alarm
for
7.30 every morning, playing (radio station name)", it would solve the
problem. If you could then say: "Wake Word - Snooze for five minutes",
that would be even better.
Best,
Clive

Hi John
Then another option would be to use an existing Smartphone to set the
alarm?
My husband has used the alarm on his phone to wake him up every day
and it has never failed that I can remember. I've been using Alexa to
wake me up
30 minutes earlier than Martin, and she has never failed either. I
don't know of any radio that you could access suitably without sight
for that purpose.

Thank you Jackie.
I had considered that option as I already have an Echo. I discounted
it for two reasons. Firstly, the Wi-Fi in my home is not too reliable
on that floor due to the nature of its build and secondly as I find
the Echo's ability to recognise my commands too unreliable as it does
not always accept my instructions to it.
Regards, John.

Hi John
You might not want this recommendation, but I think Alexa is as good
as anything out there. You can choose the alarm sound, different
alarm times, and you can have her in a variety of flavours now such as
Echo, Echo Dot, GGMM speaker, multiroom speaker system like Sonos, and
you get a better radio quality than DAB can ever offer.
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

Subject: [access-uk] Bedside Radio
Hello list,
My bedside radio has just about given up after quite a few years. It
was a Pure Sonus radio and I was pleased with its performance.
I am now looking for a replacement.
At one time there was a Pure Tempus-1 which additionally had an
element of TTS built in. Unhappily Pure have stopped marketing these radios.
Could I please have some recommendations for a replacement?
My criteria are:
Bedside size, I.E. not a Hi-Fi component.
DAB facility.
At least two alarms, I.E. one for weekdays and one for weekends.
Snooze capability.
TTS would be a sought after bonus.
Thank you.
Regards, John.
