Yes, I guess we've made some progress anyway in at least being able to
backup everything - but I want to be able to restore as well.  Hopeful -
well, one day perhaps!

You're correct that at one time both Drive Image and Ghost had to
operate in 
DOS mode. Now they seem to have overcome that problem as I see Stephen
has 
posted a message about Ghost 9 that also seems to work effectively in 
Windows.

However neither of us have restored  from those backups and for the life
of 
me I cannot work out how it can be done with speech as the speech would
not 
be there if a major collapse has occurred. But at least being able to 
maintain a regular backup programme without dragging an unwilling
volunteer 
in off the street is half the problem solved so progress is being made.
