Hi,

Steve is right, Chinese phones might be a bit iffy in terms of
accessibility, however, if you have a friend who knows how to
reinstall the system, it all works well then. My friends loved these
phones, particularly because they could play around and experiment.

Just don't buy these Chinese import phones, they tend to screw with

Hi Steve & All,

I agree with you Steve that it's great that the choice isn't about
accessibility but about lifestyle.  I've always got on fine with my iphone
and been able to do what I wanted but I do like the idea of not being tied
down to the apple way of doing things and the phones are certainly generally
cheaper which is good.

Keep your thoughts coming folks but let's not get into one being definitely
better than the other.

Best wishes,

Sarah

Importance: High

at the end of the day, it depends on what you want to use the device for.
when I really got going with the iPhone, I wanted to use it as my
portable media device, and as my high quality audio or video recorder.
it was there however, that I ran in to the affore mentioned iTunes
only issue. this is why I am now so pleased with my android phone, as
I can finally do that with out the aggravation.

And this is my point.  None of this is to do with accessibility, just
lifestyle and choice.  Isn't it great?  I don't like the Apple walled
garden

either, but I wouldn't discourage anyone from using them.

All the best

I would say that you would gain better and easier connectivity and
transferring with android, as you can just go through windows in the
normal

way, and can also I believe bluetooth files between phones, unlike
with the

iPhone, where one has to mess about with pesky iTunes and that's one's
only

option.
this was the main reason for me getting an android phone, as I was
just sick

of the aggravation when it came to getting media such as audiobooks,
movies,

music, etc. on to the iPhone, and videos or recordings off of it.
I have a samsung note 8 and a sony X Z premium, and I also think that
certainly as far as the note 8 goes, the internet browsing is actually
better than on the iPhone.
hope this helps.

Hi all,

My contract with O2 is about to finish and I'm looking at what new
phone I get.  I've had an iPhone since they first came out and am well
used to using them and Voiceover however I know that android
accessibility has come a long way in the pst few yers.  So my genuine
question is what would I gain / lose if I switched to an android phone
and if so what particular models do people have experience of using?

In terms of what I do on my iphone it's the usual mail, web browsing,
FB, twitter, banking etc.  I don't use applemusic as I have spotify
but I do also use the Netflix ap.

I await genuine feedback.

Regards,

Sarah
