Hi,
I just had a chance to play around with the tv box this evening. Please note
this is my first android machine and I am not really use to the platform and
some of the problems may have something to do with my experience.
1. unfortunately the home page is quite inaccessible. Although you can move
between the items, the talkback does not read them, (apparently there is an
accessible launcher, but I do not know what it is).
2. once you are in the menus, e.g. settings, you can move between items and
enter on them either with the remote, or, the keyboard of your choice. All
items are read by talkback.
3. all sub menus, check boxes are also accessible no problem and modifying
talkback, tots, wifi etc are quite easy.
4. I have not been able to find a shortcut, or, modifier key to turn talkback
on or off through keyboard or the remote.
5. I have had no time to try any of the apps, but, as usual, if the app
developer followed any accessibility guides, the apps should also be accessible.

Thank you

Hi,
Please tell us how Steve's advice turned out when you try it. I'm thinking of
getting one of these boxes myself (are we talking about the kodi ones?)

and phones are up to scratch when it comes to accessibility but I
wouldn’t go near these boxes yet.

Steve,
I move around with the arrow keys as well as the touchpad. Apparently
it moves over to the icons, but, talkback does not read them. Is
there any specific setting I need to change in talkback or in the
accessibility section?

Hi,
How are you moving between icons with the keyboard? Your best bet is
to do Alt-Shift left or right arrows to move, and Alt-Shift-Enter to
click on an icon.
Check out Talkback keyboard shortcuts in Settings.
All the best
Steve

Hi all,
I have just bought one of those android based tv box, v6.1. I also
downloaded talkback v5xx and google tts. I also enabled explore by touch.
I
am trying to use a keyboard with touchpad, and, a keyboard compatible
with android, IClever keyboard. For some reason, when I move between
icons, it does not read the items, and, it becomes quite slow. The
box works quite fast when the talkback is off.
Any idea what settings I should change please?
