My Sister has received an RNIB Audio in Pocket device.
She is genrally pleased with it. Unfortunately it is, like many devices
nowadays, pretty quiet on earphones apparently. I seem to be a lone voice
trying to make organisations like the RNIB test volume on products before
issuing them.
My sister can hear in quiet environments but struggles if there is any
background noise.
Anyway as a workaround my sister has found that she can get acceptable
listening by using a secondary amplifier which she has bought from Amazon.
This boosts the volume sufficiently from the Audio in your Pocket device to a
level where she can hear even with background noise.
The product name if anybody else has this problem is
FiiO A1 Mini Portable Headphone Amplifier –
If you copy this into a Amazon search you should be able to find it.
It costs about £25. My sister does caution that it works with devices like the
Audio in your Pocket and a Victor Reader Stream but apparently does not work
well with Digital Radios.
