I keep talking about purchasing the KNFB app but the cost puts me off,
especially as my husband is sighted so I only occasionally need help with
print. I liked the price of this but the general feedback doesn't seem that
positive.

Yes I bought this app the other week. It is ok, but requires time and
patience. What it does that K-NFB Reader doesnt is allow you to move the
phone around in a live situation for information. I dont think that when
it finds what you want, it reads it that well, but this is where practice
comes in handy. The bleeping frankly irritates me, but I find it does less
if you turn it off, or rather it gives me less feedback than I need!
I have kept it for the occasions when I might need something read out
quickly without having to constantly take pictures. Is it worth the dosh?
Probably not, but then that is subjective as it really depends on how much
time and effort you want to give to it.

I was reading in this months edition of Access IT about an OCR app called
Amedia which only costs £22. Apparently it has many similarities to the KNFB
app. I just wondered if anyone had any experience of this?
