Hi Jackie

I am not finding this at all. I am able to jump from item to item on the menu without having to close down the app. We have two Audible libraries connected to our Echo and I can jump between them and play books from them. I have had no problems in say jumping from Shopping List to Music to Books. It is slightly confusing that the button or whatever it is that you need to tap is spoken with the words "link image". The secret is to to double-tap this twice, once to get out of the tab and once again to get into the tab menu. I don't think the app is quite as bad as you are finding. It's just a little eccentric.

Hi Kevin

I was talking to my friend Shaun Preece last night about this as we are
planning a joint review for Tech Talk.  But neither of us likes the app,
which seems to force us to close it right down and start again if we want to
access a tab.

I am very underwhelmed at the moment, though I do like the speaker itself.

Hi,   I feel the same way about the app and the product,   I can't
believe that it was put out and you can't order things on Amazon! or am
I doing something wrong?   I tried this using my voice and was told this
is not available yet!

Has anyone found the app to be a bit unresponsive at times?  For
example, if I double-tap on one of the tabs, then go back to the Home
screen, I sometimes find it doesn't want to activate another tab, and
I have to quit the app in the App Switcher, go back in, and am then
able to select the relevant tab.

I would also like to clear the history of what I have asked Alexa to
do, but haven't found a way of doing this as yet.

It is early days yet, I know, but while the TTS voice and the speaker
itself is quite good, I'm not wowed by it at the moment.

Jackie

I can tell you about the buttons on the top.  The one with a dot on it
turns on the Echo and turns it off when pressed once more.  The other
button is on and off for the microphone.

I have now got my Echo up and running, though I did find the app to be
a bit unresponsive to start with.  By that, I mean that I was able to
connect her to WiFi, but the app was extremely sluggish for a good while.

I have a few questions to ask about the unit in general, if someone
would be kind enough to give me a few pointers:

1.  I have asked her some pretty basic questions so far, but how do
you clear the search history from the screen of the app?

2.  Having had only a very short play this afternoon, what do the
buttons on top of the unit do?  I am assuming the left button is for
on/off?
3.  Does anyone know of an accessible Alexa UK user guide?

I apologise if these questions have been asked in one form or another
already.
