Hi Sarah
I use either Audacity or Sound Forge to record, and also have a USB microphone.
I wear headphones when I’m recording so JAWS isn’t picked up at all. I have a
Blue Yeti microphone, I’m a big fan!
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

Thanks all, lots of useful stuff here.
I have heard of Goldwave and Audacity - will look into them both.
I'm guessing I'll need a USB microphone too but will I need a seperate
soundcard?
Apologies for what might seem like dim questions but new to all this!!
Many thanks,
Sarah

Sorry John, I must correct you. Goldwave is not free, it is demo ware. That
is to say, it lets you use it for so many keystrokes, then you have to buy it.
It is not expensive though.
All the best

Sarah, have you tried Gold Wave? This is easy both for recording and editing
purposes. Or another alternative is Audacity. Both these programmes are free.
