Okay, then I'm not in the running for that one! I just can't house it! Thanks
though for your comments.

I can view all the menus’ the EPG talks, so do the channel names and mini
guide. I think you would struggle to find such a small TV with built in
accessibility. Maybe 32 inches at a push. The Samsung in the kitchen is 40” (it
is a large kitchen) and the Sony in the living room is 55”.

OK, Chris, so what, exactly, can you do with your J model in the kitchen and
what size is it?

(We don't have a big place so anything more than maybe 21 inches at the
largest, would be too much, and I appreciate smaller models are hard to get
these days.

I recently visited my local TV supplier and took a look at the latest range
of Panasonic TVs. They were known to be accessible in the passed, but now
some of their new models come with the Firefox operating system. I could not
find accessibility anywhere. in the menus.

I opted for a Sony TV instead which has Android built in. Accessibility and
talking menus were easy to find. I have not had a chance to play with all
the features yet, but YouView will be available within the TV from July
which I can access via my iPhone.

You can also purchase any Samsung TV that starts with the letter J as part
of the model number. All J series TVs have talking menus. I have one in the
kitchen and it works great.

Hi Martin.

Most TV's have talking menus on now I think from the major manufacturers.
We recently bought a samsung TV and it has talking EPG, menus, channel
listing in realtime etc. similar to the TVOnics really. it tells you
verbally when something isn't going to be read out if you click on the
option. I'd advise you to pop in to currys or a local TV shop with someone
sighted if possible, and get them to flick through the menus to look for an
option called voice guide /accessibility. its normally in the main menu or
in system. failing that, choose a TV you like the sound of, then download
the manual for it. that's what I did with mine and if it lists
accessibility and tells you what it may read out, then that could be a
great help. I've been quite impressed by samsung equipment of late, they're
making quite an effort for the VI market.

cheers,

Mo.

Hi folks

I'm due for a new TV and wondered if anyone knows if there is any out
there with accessible talking menues for setup and operation. I'm sure I
heard a while ago that panasonic were making one that was fully talking
similar to the TVonics box, I need a smart TV for internet channels. Any
info, blogs etc for me to look into will be much appreciated.
