Hi Steve
Thank you very much for your email. I had asked this question on Amazon as
well, apparently someone has tested this and they use the headset profile so
call quality is on a par with my Plantronics headphones, that is to say phone
call quality rather than HD. This means I will not be buying these headphones
as I want something with high definition as I plan to use them with services
like Aira and Be My Eyes Skype, Zoom et cetera.
Thanks anyway and take care.

Hi Ibrahim,
I haven't taken calls with it, but it supports HFP V1.6, which is High
Frequency Profile. It is Bluetooth 4.2 with AAC.
You can get the specs here:-

Subject: [access-uk] AKG Y500 headphones question
Hi everyone
Can anyone comment as to the sound quality when making and receiving calls
on these headphones? Do they use the headset profile or do they support high
definition calling with apps such as Skype, Zoom et cetera? Thank you.
