Hi Petrina

Docx format is the new doc for Word 2007 upwards. You can install the Microsoft compatibility pack from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=3

This will enable you to open, read and edit docx files in Office 2003. The advice given by Microsoft is to ensure that you have installed all the high priority updates for Office before installing the pack.

Hope this helps.

Hello Petrina,

I'm assuming that you are using Windows? So grab a copy of jarte. It's an excellent word processor!

I'm not sure if it will require you to download some extra stuff from Microsoft. But it usually directs you.
