The clouds in DCS do change the dynamic picture more than the clouds in Il2 I
feel, to me they seem more of a hindrance in Il2 rather than part of the
scenario that you are flying in.
Fuel is a problem if you want to fly from England and back, I could have gone
further if I had used my drop tank properly. You have got the option to land at
the beachhead, or even refuel if need be.
The radar reports are very simple and basic in enemy location and altitude,
which is more than enough without going to close to being modern, not sure how
much info the lotac GCI system will be giving when implemented.
You did also get a message of enemy formation inbound Leesay angels 12 so you
knew that it was a AI scripted attack, just like the axis would get a message
of the potential AI bomber attack. So there are option to do different types of
missions.
The MkIX climb quite well to 34,000ft, boost started to drop off about the
23,000ft mark from what I remembered, it would be interesting to see how the 47
behaves at 34,000ft compared to the Spitfire.
Another good thing was frame rates I did not get that much of a drop especially
with all that cloud, so it was a good test :).

Which all goes to show what a difference layered clouds and realistic radar
