Matt, I seem to remember that Verizon does have some
sort of spam filter, you will have to dig around the
verizon email web site to find it, then disable it.
are you receving any other mail?
have you checked to see if your account info is
correct?
can you send yourself mail from the froum?

I am with a web site using vBulletin Version 3.0.0
and I have no problem receving mail.
