Thanks, Harry.  That might not be a consequential choice, if Xy turned out to 
be the only DOS program used 

on that computer.

In regard to the other thing, I guess I was confusing Kmd.Exe with NTVDM.Exe, 
when it was the latter that 

was relevant..
