I birded Wisconsin Point this morning, and although Ring-billed Gulls were in good numbers, it was a relatively quiet morning out there. Several Forster's Tern and Caspian Terns were noted from the morning. One Pied-billed Grebe was seen as well, but no jaegers were seen. eBird list is below: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S15146135 Ring-billed Gull from this morning: http://www.pbase.com/image/152295892 We shouldn't count the chickens before they hatch... but looking at the current conditions & approaching forecast (and also outside of my bedroom window today), the raptor flights are quickly picking up! For anyone planning on visiting the Duluth/Superior area, tomorrow could possibly be a very impressive day at Hawk Ridge, with today's strong western winds, being followed by tomorrow's anticipated calmer northern breezes.
