This morning it was nice to see White-throated and White-crowned Sparrows at
the feeders, but no Orioles or Grosbeaks yet. I decided to head over to Wehr
Nature Center, and was happy to have my FOY House Wrens, Yellow Warbler, and
Tufted Titmouse (very vocal). Also enjoyed seeing and hearing Red-breasted
Nuthatch and Palm Warblers, among other birds. On the way out to work I stopped
by Grobschmidt Park where there were approximately 100 Ruddy Ducks on the
water, as well as Caspian Terns, Red-breasted Mergansers, and others. A
Sandhill Crane flew overhead just as I was leaving. Nothing unusual today, but
a good way to beat the chilly weather and prepare for work projects.
