Good morning, yesterday there were 27 American Avocets, 11 Willets and 1
LeConte's Sparrow, all FOY. A Nelson's was also reported, but I never saw
it, maybe a mistake in the field? Also FOY White-crowned Sparrows, Veery,
Caspian Terns, Spotted Sandpipers. There were 18 Blue-winged Teal, some of
the most tame I've ever seen, a group of 12 Ruddy Duck and RB Mergansers.
For being such a small area, the birds were sure packed in. It was 41° with
a 20mph north wind for a cold 32° wind chill, at the end of April! It was
worth it to see 7 FOY's in one afternoon, at one place!
