Robbye Johnson and I had a long conversation this afternoon. She was able to give me an update on Josh Horky, the Superior birder who fell out of a tree a few weeks ago. The doctors say he is making remarkable progress, especially considering his type of injury. He is still in the hospital and will be for a few more weeks. He is currently doing physical therapy and that will continue for a very long time. However at this point the doctors still cannot say whether he will walk again or not. They are hopeful but due to the extent and type of injury it remains uncertain now. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as it will be a long recovery, although he has made significant progress to date. One other quick note, Robbye indicated that a male Barrow's Goldeneye was in the Superior "harbor" about 2-3 weekends ago. They think the bird may still be around although no one has checked for it recently. It was hanging out with Common Goldeneyes.
