Is that four consecutive years for this bird? It seems in the past that 3 consecutive years was the max for this species in Wisconsin. I'm not sure how long chucks live or if this is even the same bird each year. Jim Otto reports hearing the Chuck-will's-widow last night at the usual spot in Jackson Co., on Bartos Rd. about 100 yds. west of Kirch. He said it was calling at 9:00 p.m. when he got there, and continued to call for the next 20 minutes as it moved around to various locations. It was still calling when he & his wife left at 9:20.
