As mentioned earlier, there was a marsh wren and a yellow warbler in the
hedges/shrubs along the north end of the rugby field on the east side of
Lincoln Memorial. There were also savannah sparrows, swamp sparrows, song
sparrows and a chipping sparrow. Tons of rb mergansers floating and flying
with huge movements of DC Cormorants. Saw a single horned grebe actively
fishing. I walked through Lake Park as well and saw swamp sparrows, BG
Gnatcatchers, a single YR warbler, lots of WT Sparrows an eastern towhee and
other common/regular birds. The e screech owl continues - thanks to the fellow
birder (Sue??) who pointed it out to me while we chatted. She actually found
the marsh wren and the yellow warbler in the hedges. A very nice morning spent
walking the waterfront and Lake Park!
