Dave Slager just called and his assistant Will Lewis found an adult Little Blue Heron at Trempealeau NWR today (May 26) at 3PM. The bird was still present at 3:30PM, feeding and roosting with Great Egrets. Here is the location as described to me by Dave: Park at the Marshland Rd gate off of State Route 35. Walk or bike 1/2 mile to Delta Pt Rd, then turn right and go 1/2 mile to the first bend. At this bend turn right (only option). Go 1/4 mile to where the second bend. This is where the bird was located, foraging in a ditch and roosting in trees with Great Egrets. Dave eBirded the sighting, including GPS coordinates, which should be available on the eBird google gadget http://ebird.org/plone/ebird/home/birding-news-and-features/news/Google_Gadget.html soon. Good luck to anyone who tries for this bird.
