I've run Win2k Server on a 2x266Mhz PII w/ 192MB of RAM, and for simple tasks it's more than adequate. If your I/O is of decent speed and you've got enough memory for your task then you should be fine. -Aaron ----------------------- Aaron Dokey - MIS Reid Tool Supply 2265 Black Creek Rd. I have tried to run WinXP on the following config, but it is real slow, what do I really need ?? CPU: AMD K6-2 500 MHZ RAM: 384 MB (100mhz speed) Disk: 2*40GB IBM Deskstar 7200 RPM Thankful for all advices - until further I'll stick to W2K, and will wait for my new pc to arrive later today, but the plans is to use this 500 as a server pc, and then I'll better stick to W2K on that ?? and XP on the new one (1.2GHZ/512MB/2*80GB) ?? -- John Svendsen www.svimen.com ICQ: 3488075 TEL: +4740450307 ================================== To Unsubscribe, set digest or vacation mode or view archives use the below link. http://thethin.net/win2000list.cfm ================================== To Unsubscribe, set digest or vacation mode or view archives use the below link. http://thethin.net/win2000list.cfm
