I run a win2k server with the Master dc, ftp-server, fileserver and a gameserver-roles on an almost identical system. I have 256M ram and 2x 30G, 1x 80 and one 160G HDs, though. Works quite nice. Win2k server I think is a heavier burden to run than xp. It all depends on what you want to do with that box of yours. Before I had the amd k6-2/500, I ran the same roles on a PII/233 with less ram... 8-) BW, Sorin # Sorin Srbu, Systems Engineer Web: http://www.farmaci.uu.se # Dept of Medical Chemistry, Phone: +46-18-4714482 >> 5 signals >> GSM # Div of Org Pharm Chem, Mobile Phone: +46-701-718023 # BMC, Box 574, Uppsala University Fax: +46-18-471-4474 # SE-751 23 Uppsala, Sweden Visit: BMC, Husargatan 3, D5:512b # # Public PGP key available on request. ================================== To Unsubscribe, set digest or vacation mode or view archives use the below link. http://thethin.net/win2000list.cfm
