If anyone is running SUS successfully, please could you let me know what entries you get in the windows update.log file. I get this kind of entry each time: 2002-08-06 08:26:19 07:26:19 Success IUENGINE Querying = software update catalog from https://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/autoupdate/getmanifest.asp 2002-08-06 08:26:19 07:26:19 Success IUENGINE Determining = machine configuration That (to me) implies updates coming from the Windows Update site (which = is actually blocked by a GPO - User Configuration/Administrative = Templates/Start Menu & Taskbar/Disable and remove links to Windows Update [enabled]). =20 If the updates are coming from the SUS server I would expect the log to = give the name of the server, not the windows update site. The PCs are = getting updates ... but from where??? And if they ARE coming from windows = update how is that possible if the GPO blocks access to it? Any help is appreciated! I will spent some time next week to investigate this problem. Can you inform me about your solution in this case ?
