Subject: [windows2000] SUBST error

Hello all,

I have this issue when I (as the Domain Admin) try and run this command:
"SUBST X: \\server\shared_out <file:///\\server\shared_out> "

The problem is that in explorer the mapped drive has a RED X on it. At
first that pointed me to this
http://thethin.net/faqs2.cfm?id=294&category=2&sortby=date and this
Q269163. But I have a twist to it, I CAN NOT access it. It error out
with this "X:\ is not accessible, The filename, directory name, or
volume lable syntax is incorrect"

This command works fine if I do this "SUBST X:
\\The_Local_Server\shared_out <file:///\\The_Local_Server\shared_out> "
but that's not using a file server.

Can someone PLEASE help :-(
