You're right, I just checked. I can't belive MS hasn't combined these two tools, does anyone know of the reason for the separation? -Aaron ----------------------- Aaron Dokey - MIS Reid Tool Supply 2265 Black Creek Rd. But will agree with Jim as to when I use each one... In other words, I use regedit when I have to, and that's it. Regedit seems to be a more windows 9x version of the tool, while regedt32 seems more NT friendly. Just someone forgot a search function, punks. Also, with regedt32 you can see all the user hives that are open on a citrix server can't you? You can't do this with regedit, or can you? -Aaron ----------------------- Aaron Dokey - MIS Reid Tool Supply 2265 Black Creek Rd. Here is a comparison table I found... http://www.pcquest.com/content/technology/401030301.asp When making changes I always stick with Regedt32. If I need to search or export a key to use in a Regedit script I use regedit. The functionality is different. The major difference: REGEDIT has a find feature, REGEDT32 does not. REGEDT32 has the ability to set permissions on reg keys and values, REGEDIT does not. Regedit.exe and Regedt32.exe? Does it matter which I use? (I always use Regedit.exe -- am I doing it TOTALLY wrong?)
