I run XP most of the time because Vista doesn't play well with the
Soundblaster Card I have and I refuse to go out and buy a $200+
soundcard, so it (HD) does spin down for no apparent reason and when
shutting down, the computer will stop because (I think) XP is waiting
for the drive. At least that is my impression because it (XP) only does
that when the drive stops.

This only happens to the one drive. I have three others installed by the
way.

Thanks Scott

When a computer dies, does it see a blue screen?
