Perfect. That is the "Swing" method, because you are swinging your account
database over to a temporary server, and then swinging it back.

This is what the instructor of our AD class told us is a good way to do it,
just want to check if I may be missing anything:

1 - Build a temporary box as a NT4.0 BDC
2 - Promote the temporary box to a PDC
3 - Check replication
4 - Upgrade the temporary box to Windows 2k or 2k3
5 - Wipe out one of the existing NT4.0 BDC's and set it up from scratch with
2k or 2k3 as a member server
6 - Run DCPROMO on the member server
7 - Transfer the 5 roles to this newly promoted machine
8 - Demote the temporary box and remove it

Does this sound like a good start?

Right now I have the temp box setup as a NT4.0 BDC.
I have 6 servers I need to bring into this newly formed W2k AD structure
when all is said and done.
