Can also happen if you have a persistant driver mapped somewhere or using
your account for a service
and you change password. Careful about using your account to map drives or
as service account.

I've seen this when the user has some scheduled tasks trying to run
under his account with an old password, or unlikelier (word?) some
services.
Also, you may watch the user try just once, but perhaps the user had
already tried half a dozen times before you saw this and the user lied
about it. That's what users do, they lie, cheat, and steal. They'll do
anything to get their fix from the helpdesk. Damn users.
p.s. I don't think anyone is using the Tropic of Cancer list anymore

Has anyone ever experienced this before?
I have two users that have been getting locked out while already logged
onto the network. I also watched another user enter their password
incorrectly just one time and get locked out. Our account policy has a
three failed attempts before lockout rule. They are all on Windows 2000
Pro workstations and we are using Windows 2000 servers. Thanks in
advance for any help.
