Sorry, should have been more clear. The VMWare Console is graphical. It
does not have to run locally. I run it remotely on Windows or Linux
machines with GUI interfaces. It will not run locally on a CLI only
machine, so if you need the VMWare console on the server itself, Gnome or
KDE or something like those would be required. Performance of the console
on a LAN is excellent, on a WAN it is OK but not great.
