Yes, plugins are what makes Winamp the fantastic piece of software it is. Plugins allow Winamp to play different audio formats, broadcast on the internet, change the sound of a file, add compression, all kinds of things. Basically, installing a plugin is like installing any other program. If the instalation file you download has a .zip extention, simply use whatever unzip utility you use to get the plugin file, usually this is a .dll file into your plugins folder under Winamp.
