Hi Steve and List,

Using the Power Player plug-in and the proper codices, you can play most
video formats directly in Winamp. There is a word of caution. While you
can indeed play them, when active, this plug-in renders most JAWS navigation
and keystrokes inactive. You can immediately restore them by pressing alt +
V to close the video window when the clip is done playing.

Go to the plug-ins section of the winamp.com site and search for power
player. Also, you may need to go to the free codex site to obtain the
proper codices.

Sorry, Allan, I guess I need to clarify things a bit. No, I don't want to
split out the audio portion from the video. I just want to be able to play a
video from a given website so I can hear the audio; it's okay of the video's
there.

hi Steve,
do you mean that you want to split the audio out from a video file and play
it with winamp? i guess winamp can't help you for this,
perhaps you can use another program to just take out the audio portion from
that video file and save it into a .mp3 file then you
can play it with winamp. i have successful done this with a program call
sound forge. email me off list if you need more advice.

Warmest Regards,

Is there a way to set Winamp up to play the audio portion of a video. I'm
totally blind, so the visual part wouldn't do me any good.
If I need to do this using something other than Winamp, please write me
privately. I have Winamp 5.33 with Jaws 7.10 and a braille display on Win
XP. I have Internet Explorer 6.
Thanks for any help you folks can give me on this.
