Hey Michael,
I have seen CME referenced when content management companies reference
their capabilities. I just did a job where I had to screen and select
a partner to build a CMS for a client and most of them reference their
systems as engines. Interwoven, Ektron, Red Dot and Vignette all seem
to switch between CMS and CME casually. Hope this helps.
