Maybe this is one of those instances where you ty to let the client
know the cons of such a move and what the industry standard is
(Flash); take a walk through a few major website and show them the
banners.

I mean, are the clients worth it to you? Do you just want to get it
done and have them happy with their way and out of your hair? Or do
you want to do it 'correctly', in a way that encompasses the highest
percentage of viewers and hope they can see the benefits to that when
you've shown it to them and explained?

Tough call. You know your clients and have the contract.
