Mark, I am currently reading the CEN Guide 6 in MS Word format. Prompted by your query, I installed Word Viewer and the result is shown below. This page of the guide contains a very complex table which has a double row of heading, and should be 14 columns wide. The viewer has removed the table structure almost as if the table were converted to text. This is making a difficult document even more difficult to read. I also found that the quick keys do not function in word viewer even though the insert-z command does activate the JAWS virtual cursor. Again, this is a significant reduction in usability. Otherwise, the document reads perfectly clearly from top to bottom. Here is the way the page looks under the Word viewer. The most difficult item is the series of dots that appear between each word. These can be turned off using the JAWS verbosity dialog.
